THIS IS NOT LONDON @ MATTER (http://www.matterlondon.com/) is a top choice. One because it has 80 sub basss bins under the floor, 2 it's new and you shoudl check it out and 3 the line up is pretty fruity. With Mujava, the one who brought us Township Funk, spinning which is enough to get me there.
Matter, of course, is the new multi-million pound venue from the team behind Fabric. Doubters might be pointing to its South of the river dwelling and corporate habitat inside the 02 but the reality is the arrival of the most technologically advanced venue in the capital and a music roster that has already heard Sasha, Carl Cox, John Digweed. Deadmau5 and Simian Mobile Disco pump their respective sounds through the venue's revolutionary Body Kinetic Soundsystem.

Universo Paralello - New Years Eve Psy Trance Festival Brazil 2008
The 9th edition of Universo Paralello invites everyone once again to be in the paradisiacal sands of Pratigi Beach. If you missed Boom Festival or you're missing it, then this is the one for you. The setting of Universo Paralello is unbeatable, the geography however is a little out of the price range for most people. If you can afford it though you will treated to the best New Years Eve party of your life. Psy Trances top DJs, beautiful people, sunshine, palm trees, bamboo, and the big blue.
The Place: For the sixth consecutive year the Festival will be held at Pratigi Beach, in the township of Ituberá, in the state of Bahia. After years of recognized benefits for the township, the Festival is increasingly considered as part of the city’s heritage by the local population.
Situated 160km south of the capital city of Salvador, Ituberá lies in a privileged position between the Island of Boipeba and the Barra Grande Peninsula – two of the countries most beautiful tourist attractions.
Pratigi Beach is surrounded by a network of mangroves and is the home to a wide and lush variety of wildlife. The area is also surrounded by preserved fauna and is one of the last remaining preserved Restinga (littoral) Forests in Brazil – which grants it the official title of Environmental Preservation Area. Just as in previous years, the Festival is forever underscoring the importance of enviromental issues. Our specialized crew, under the supervision of the local IBAMA office(Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources), has set up a recycling plant for all residues produced during the Festival. In all previous editions of the Festival, Universo Paralello has left the beach cleaner than we found it. Facilities

Travel Tips: For all of you who are coming from all different parts of the world, here are a few tips that will make your arrival easier and cheaper:Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia, is our major reference. It lies about 170 km to the north of Ituberá – the county where Pratigi Beach, the festival venue, is located. Salvador has an international airport.From Salvador there are many way to get to the festival. The most common one is through the Ferry Boat, which leaves from a port in the downtown area. The Ferry Boat crosses the All Saints Bay (Baía de Todos os Santos) and docks in the city of Bom Despacho, on the island of Itaparica. In Bom Despacho there are regular bus lines and shuttle vans to Ituberá. The fare for the Ferry Boat is €1,25 and the bus fare from Bom Despacho to Ituberá is €6,00.If you rent a car in Salvador, the Ferry Boat charges about €10,00 for the automobile and an additional €1,25 for each passenger.
Another way to reach Ituberá from Salvador is by bus. The company Águia Branca has regular lines leaving from the central bus station in Salvador. The five-hour trip cost about €9,00 and covers a distance of around 350km.Delays and full rides are common. Please be tolerant.The fastest way to get to the festival is by hiring one of the companies that will be doing shuttle services for the festival and will leave you in the front gate! HOW TO FIND CHEAPER INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT TICKETS
Here are a few tips that might save a few bucks for those who are flying into the country:Being a major tourist destination, Salvador is constantly faced with full flights from and to its airport (Airport Luiz Eduardo Magalhães). So, if you include Salvador in your air route, which might raise your spendings a bit. One way to avoid this is to arrive in the country in another of Brazil`s international airports and than complete the journey in domestic flights, excursions, rented car or bus.The best airport option in Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo. It has a bigger international flight availability and more options for domestic flights. The Congonhas Airport, also located in the city of São Paulo, is only a few miles away and also has many options for domestic flights.Other gateway options are Rio de Janeiro (Tom Jobim International Airport), Belo Horizonte (Confins Airport), Recife (Guararapes Airport), and Fortaleza (Pinto Martins International Airport).
Check for fares from these airports to the city of Salvador. If you want to check flight tickets, transfers or any other service, please check with the travel agencies partners: (Link to E3). Besides flying to the festival, you can also choose from other options:A cheaper option is to book an excursion trip to the festival in advance. There will be bus excursions leaving from most international airports in the country. Depending on the distance, the trip might take even more that 24 hours, but they are usually nice trips. The busses are in good shape and full of party people. The fares are usually for a round trip. As a little reminder of Boom, here is a special mix that I found that helps take me back to a couple of weeks ago. Been warned it takes me back to the night of Terror Trance - night 3 I believe. It is ridiculously journeyful trance but definitely on the dark side. Unfortunately it isnt taken from Boom, as it is proving difficult to find any recordings from the experience. Psychadelic, Free Spirits, Beautiful People, Incredible Sound System, Journeyful Music, these are just a few things that Boom is and most definitely was this time round.
Having been to a few Booms in the past I knew that getting there early was a good idea in order to beat the que. However, I have now decided that this is an impossible task no matter how early you get there. We arrived on the Saturday before he opening Monday and went to "unwind" at the antiBoom on the otherside of the Idanha a Nova lake for one night. After a night of stomping and various stumblings we made our way to the Boom gate, with a pit stop at the supermarket to get some supplies, and when we arrived we entered into the PreBoom car park which entitled us to first entry into the festival the following day. The PreBoom carpark was fun, a couple rigs were set up as usual, noticable a fine one from Ibiza that was playing some delightful Deep Tech House before moving onto Goa. Eventually by 6pm on Monday we got into Boom. And as always it was worth the wait. The theme for this years Boom was Earth, and on arrival the theme was evident. There wasnt the large Balinese Bamboo structures that were the Dance Floor and the Ambient Forest of the last Boom. There was however various lushous patches of greeny areas, and sculpture made from the elements. It looked amazing as always, with the noticable addition of lots of shaded areas along the lake side. There was also the addition of the Groovy Beach, which for mean was a real treat. Playing funk and reggae from 5 -9, Dub Step from 9-12, Breaks from 12 -2 and then Dub House, Minimal and Tech House till Mid day. I personally discovered loads of amazing new artists and genre from area and was a breath of fresh air after a night and morning on the main Dance Floor where your mind tends to travel. Noticable artists that stood out from the Groovy Beach were Far Too Loud and Patrick Zigon.
The Ambient Forest was amazing as usual. The best area to chillout and always playing deep soulful ambient beats. It is a great place to gets some kip if you can't find it elsewhere and get yourself some Chai and vegetarian munch from places outside of the main eating area. The beach area behind the Ambient Forest is also the best place to watch the sunrise, and get yourself and very generous Capriosca while relaxing on a float.
On the opposite side of the wee footbridge from the Ambient Forest is the Sacred Fire. This gorgeous part of the festival is full of loads of fresh greenary and patches of lanscaped garden and of course the live stage. Again a great area to get away from the Boom of the main Dance Floor. Eating here is also a good idea, as the vegan restaurant was amazing and you could rest your belly on a nice patch greenery afterwards.
A little bit further around from the Sacred Fire was the Healing Area. At the previous Booms this was much more central, but its new location suited it purpose much better. Here you join hourly meditation and yoga classy or get various treatments. Ranging from Reiki, Massages, Osteopathy, all for a minimum donation of 20 euro. This was also a place were one can reflect on the Boom experience and really wind down and have a cat nap under a specially planted bit of shrub. Now for the music on the Dance Floor. The opening of the rig was fantastic. As always it started with an ambient build up and built up into a stomping paradise. The atmosphere at this point was impossible to beat. Truly electric, and to be fair, this vibe carried on for the rest of the week. Notable acts from the week for me had to be from Artifakt, Burn In Noise, Cosmo, Fearsome Engine (the Tristan, Laughing Buddha combo), Shadow FX, Gocoo and Wild Marmalade. There was one night, perhaps the 3rd, when the music can only be described as Terror Trance, and o my days did it strike a cord. Could have been circumstances, but it sent me on a truly terrorfying journey. I love it!I cannot wait till the next one. Hopefully it will keep the mild weather that we got this year, because it can get VERY hot.

6 days to go till the best week of my life ... again. Every year it gets better and better, and truth be told the Boom team have promised even more this year. There are a few notable developments that I think you should know. Firstly, the car park has moved! Thankfully last Boom I was not part of the 20 hour long cue to get into the festival. We were staying on the otherside of the lake and so got to the gates fairly early and only cued for a minor 4 hours or so. Anymore and it would have been a little tedious. This year though, they have a different set up, which means Boomers can park further away from the festival, around the lake, and then get a ferry over to the festival. This will hopefully prevent the vicious cues that occured last Boom. The next development, that I'm looking forward to a lot, is the official opening up of Groovy Beach. It was introduced last Boom, but this year, it has expanded and has an official line-up and everything. Boomers should look forward to a selection of Breaks, Playful House, and Dub Step. The Line - Up has got a couple of big game dubstep players in the form of Scuba and Boxcutter, that are sure to bless the beach. I imagine they would never had been to Boom before, so I welcome them... I'm sure it will make an impression. Other developments. The loos are all going to be compost based, and 200 of them, cleaned regularly. Ones for unrine and ones for solids. One thing that always amazes me about Boom is the state of the loos. They are always clean. A breath of fresh air really, literally, compared to the pains of Glastonbury (apparently someone fell in this year).

Every 2 years since 2000 an extremely special event occurs in the farthest part of Western Europe. Portugal has got so many amazing qualities, but for me, its best, is that it plays host to the best Psy Trance festival I've ever had the pleasure of stomping at. There has been a few. It takes place on a beautiful lake in Idana -a-nova, central Portugal, right near the border of Spain. If you love outdoor parties, sunshine, free-spirits, beautiful people, and good trance, then do not ever miss a Boom. The amount of work that goes into this festival is incredible. Boom 2006 saw Balinese architects come over to build the rigs for the Dance Floor and the Chillout village.
Boom really comes to life at night when all the incredible hand made decor lights up and turns Boom festival into a colourful, vibrant, psychadelic playground. Last also saw the introduction of the Orange Awning area where they played a mixture of chilled ambient dub, minimal and breaks. This year will see a further expansion wit the introduction of dubstep, and faster breaks going on till the early hours.
