mp3: Eric Prydz Mix (Radio 1Essential Mix Progressive House)
Following on from Eric Prydz "rinse out" at London's new super club Matter, which was a complete night of musical, mixological, housey genius, by the way, I thought I would post up this 2 hour long mix from Radio 1's Essential Mix.
The ball appears to be moving firmly in the right direction for London’s newest super club Matter; sell out shows and mainly glowing reports have characterised the south London venue’s formative days in business.
Now with attentions turning to end of year celebrations, the Greenwich venue have announced Belgium party starters 2 Many DJs as their headline act for NYE 2008.
Supporting the duo on a distinctly guitar-laden line up will be Manchester quartet The Whip, Swiss disco-dabbler Headman, Krautrock enthusiast Riton and Riotous Rockers playing a DJ set. The obligatory special guests are to be announced.
Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz releases singles and EPs under a variety of project names, including Pryda, Cirez D, Sheridan, Dirty Funker, Moo, A and P Project, Axer, Hardform, Dukes of Sluca, and Groove System. Most of these singles are released on his own labels, which include Mouseville, Pryda, and Pryda Friends. Under his own name, however, Prydz favors straightforward, club-oriented house with a line in remakes of mildly cheesy pop songs from the 1980s.

I'm sure you'll be saying "Love That Tune"! shortly after! ...
"80 sub bass drivers under the floor linked that are linked to the music " .... is all I can say about the new 'super' club Matter - informally labelled 'The One' of all nightclubs. Fabric owners Keith Reilly and Cameron Leslie led the multimillion-pound project, that opened last weekend and I have only heard of one review. Judging from the photos and the equipment that they've got in there, it's a gooden. Although, it seems transport is going to be an issue of which I hear a boat ferry is going to solve.
Check out the line up for the next 3 weeks, it's looking good:

In terms of the sound. The main sound system for the club is based around a Martin Audio W8L Longbow line array. Matter’s VIP lounge will feature Void Acoustics Air Motion, Airten, Axys and Mycro loudspeaker systems. Void supplied over 30 loudspeakers for the area, which features a dance floor and seven private-entertainment booths. Two custom-designed bass enclosures – the Axsys X, a 2 x 18-inch multiple resonant chamber design, and the compact 2 x 12-inch Mycro are housed in the area. The dance floor contains two pairs of Void's signature Air Motion triple-horn mid/highs combined with four Axys X subs with Airten twin-coil units used for infills and DJ monitors. The private boots in the area feature an Airten unit and a Mycro X that has been specially designed to fit under the booth furniture. The Micro X features two 12-inch drivers in a space that usually fits only one driver, thus increasing the subs power to 1500 Watts.... yeah ... so it's got completely sick sound basically!
