A list of great people who have passed at the age of 27.
I have become convinced that there is a place in the afterlife that is neither heaven, nor hell.
A special place for those who were taken from us at an early age, yet left behind such a strong impression that it forces us to question what would have been had they have lived longer.
This is a place where true legends go after they have died-at the early age of 27. This is the "27 Club" and here are some of its' greatest members and a potential new comer. The only probelm is... you have to be dead to join:
Jimi Hendrix
Cause of death: Asphyxiated on vomit after overdose of sleeping pills. Fame: Pioneering electric guitarist, singer and songwriter
Brian Jones
Cause of death: Drowned in swimming pool Fame: Rolling Stones founder and guitarist / multi-instrumentalist.
Janis Joplin
Cause of death: Probable heroin overdose Fame: Lead vocalist and songwriter for Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Kozmic Blues Band and Full Tilt Boogie Band.
Jim Morrison
Cause of death: Official cause of death listed as "heart failure" but, as no autopsy was performed, the actual cause remains mysterious. Probable heroin overdose. Fame: Poet, lead singer, songwriter and video director for The Doors.
Kurt Cobain
Cause of death: Although there is much speculation about the manner of his death, it was officially ruled as caused by a self inflicted shotgun wound to the head. Fame: Lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for Nirvana
...Amy Winehouse ??? Our amazing homegrown talent / complete wreckhead fiend, is on route to joining the club in my eyes. By no means do I want this to be the case, but the 27 Club is a place for great talents and given Amy's lifestyle, which mirrors that of the other memebers, and her incredible vocal chordsn it could be where she ends up. A few other heads are in the vacinity of the 27 Club, Otis Redding also died just before his 27th birthday. Labels: 27 Club, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain |
